This is a work-in-progress of my 120 star Tool-Assisted Speedrun, which in the end aims to collect all 120 stars in SM64 in the fastest possible time. This took me appromixately 3/4 of a year to make. Originally I wasn’t planning to release any WIPs, but enough people wanted it that I’m putting this one up. Since so many new strategies and stuff have been found, I’m redoing most of this anyway (with a new WIP every now and then). Small DISCLAIMER: this is NOT meant to show skill; is it meant to entertain and push the game to its limits. It is played on a modified Nintendo 64 emulator that allows a collection of controller inputs to be modified and canceled until the result is satisfactory. This movie was played by me (mr_roberts_z). Huge thanks go to duksandfish and bkDJ for the encoding. Duksandfish encoded this one, but bkDJ deserves just as much credit for other stuff he worked hard on involving this encode. I have got all the coins in world 7 but on world 9 the gate is not open and i cannot play that level. I hope to god the game is not faulty because i have logged a lot of hours into it. Any suggestions on what i should do ?

I found all of the Star Coins in World 8 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, so what do I have to do next?
“Yahoo! Answers” wouldn’t allow me enough letters to completely ask the question. Like I said, I found all the Star Coins in World 8 but it still wouln’t let me play the eighth level of World 9. It said that I had to collect all the Star Coins of World 8 and I did. What’s going on!?

I did fail the last level (Bowser’s Castle) 8 times in which I activated the Super Guide. Could that be the reason?
