what are some specific coins cards or anything anyone can think of to start collecting?

I currently collect basketball cards and a huge fan of the bulls so I lots of there cards along with michael jordan. I have maybe a couple coins probably not or much value but like that they are old. Im not a expert collector its a hobby and I think of it maybe one day ill have something of value for my future family. I was just looking for specifics of some cheaper things i could purchase that will have decent value maybe 40 or 50 yrs from now. I don’t really have the money to invest in things that may cost 200 bucks but up to 50 maybe ever 100 would b nice of course less even better. I understand they may not be worth much now but just something that may possibly go up in the future. Does not need to be cards or coins I would like to start new collections as well. Ways to store them would be nice as well nothing expensive though. Thank you for taking the time out for me :)

Silver Coins and Currency Collecting

I will be doing a short series on coin collecting and currency collecting. There will be examples of pure silver, silver coins, clad coins, copper coins, paper money, etc. I will spot light Morgans, Walking Liberty, Kennedy, Franklin, as well as some mis-strikes and error coins. We will also talk about the difference in pricing and melt price. I might even go a gold piece or two. I also sell Avon so if you like Avon products, please visit the link below and place a small order. That sure does help me a lot! AVON – I need customers. You need a good Avon Rep. How much will the worthless lead painted Obama plates be worth in a month?

Will they have the same worthless value as his China made coins with his mug emblazoned on them for the mindless sheep to collect?

Or will they have the same worthless value that Obama has caused the Stock Market to collapse to zero

buying gold coins off the TV,not for collecting, but for future profit?

I remember my (extremely gullible) dad had bought into the whole Iraqi Dinar scam, a few years ago (Big time, 1500 Us dollars worth)

he bought Gold coins off the television this time because they promised that the value of the coins were going to rise greatly

OF course even if the price of gold went up, where the hell would he sell it, And OF COURSE theres no way to verify whether the tv scamsters set a fair price (of course not, or they wouldnt make money!)

so did my dad get 100% scammed again?
he thinks he is so smart haha, cant talk him out of anything
and btw, gold coin dealers only pay like 80 or 90% of the actual coin value from what i read now.

I am looking for advice when purchasing a Platinum American Eagle coin…?

First off i started collecting 6 months ago and have acquired coins from a Morgan to Seated liberty half to silver eagle, presidential dollar, commemoratives, etc. I purchased my first gold coin a 2008 $5 buffalo graded by ANACS in SP 70(satin) Now i am looking to purchase a $10 platinum eagle and have narrowed it down to a 2008 NGC coin. I am aware that these coins come in MS 69/ MS 70 with a regular label or the E.R. I like the idea of early release but would like to have a MS 70 grade. Looking at PCGS price grade a 1997 $10 in MS 70 is listed at $7,000. The value of a 1997 $10 in MS 69 is $145 so this brings me to believe that i am much better off purchasing a 70 grade. (tho they did not offer E.R. in 1997) I am looking at this from a collectors viewpoint and would like to say that i own a $7,000 coin (i am aware this may not appreciate in all cases) would paying $300 dollars for a regular 2008 MS 70 be overpaying by too much, this seems to suit my price range as i know platinum is around a G/ounce. i am trying to decide between the regular label MS 70 or an E.R. 69 please share anything advice/comment you may have. 21/male. thank you

Disposing of a coin collection?

What is the best way to dispose of a coin collection? It isn’t mine, so I don’t know anything about coins, other than it is important to consider their silver content and their grade (which I cannot determine)?

What’s the point in collecting things?

When I was a kid, I was convinced to collect things from:
Stamps, coins, toys, comics, comic cards, baseball cards, and things I forgot about. Now, they don’t seem worth anything and just keep up space. Where do people get in their heads’ that that stuff has value? And where would you even sell it if it did have value?
